The Chief's Corner

 

Harry "JR" Faulk. Jr - Chief-1

JR has been with the Pamelia Volunteer Fire Department for over twenty years, having joined in 1989. He was a Firefighter for four years until he quickly moved up in the ranks to the 3rd Chief's spot in 1993. JR was elected Chief in 1998 and has led the department since then. He has attended training at the National Fire Academy in Maryland three times, one time at the New York State Fire Academy, and he has over sixty state and county fire training certifications. JR originally joined the department because he had a strong desire to give something back to the community in which he lived. JR has two children and works on Fort Drum. Greg has been around the Pamelia Volunteer Fire Department since he was ten years old, his dad was a firefighter and his mom was in the ladies auxiliary. After years of watching the service his parents, and then his older brother, gave to the community, Greg knew he had to pitch in, too. Greg joined the department at sixteen years old while he was still a high school student. He was dedicated to the department and took many state and county certified fire schools after attending high school all day. Members of the department were confident enough in Greg’s firefighting skills that he was elected to the Chief-3 position at the age of nineteen. Since then he has been elected to the Chief-2 position. Greg is a paid/career firefighter in his full time job. Greg is married with two children. He may be reached at gfrench@pameliafire.org.

Bjorn "BJ" Ahlstrom - Chief-3

 BJ was voted into Pamelia on Sept 5th, 2001. He's been around the fire department since he was a kid, but has served the Pamelia community as a firefighter for the past eight  years. All of his family members have been involved in the Pamelia Fire Department at one time or another. He is married and his wife is also a member of the fire department. He was elected to the role of secretary in April 2002 and remained in that position until April 2003. He was the elected to Lieutenant from April 2003 until late June 2004 when he was promoted to Captain. He served as Captain from June 2004 until he was elected 2nd Assistant Chief in April of 2005.
