Pamelia Volunteer Fire & Rescue is an all volunteer organization in Northern New York. We have been incorporated since our inception in 1959. The Department is led by three highly qualified Chiefs: Harry "JR" Faulk, Jr (Chief 1), Gregory French (Chief 2) and Bjorn "BJ" Ahlstrom (Chief 3).

We cover approximately 20 square miles of the Town of Pamelia in Jefferson County. We are contracted to provide services to approximately 8 square miles of the Town of LeRay, adjacent to us. We provide automatic mutual aid to Glen Park, Northpole and the southern area of the Theresa Fire Departments. We also provide mutual aid as needed in other areas of the county and have provided support beyond the county line.

We currently have 23 members in the department. They are trained to provide the finest assistance possible to our community and those who pass through. Several of our members are also EMT qualified. Our members continuously update their skills with in-house training and by attending certified classes through the County and State.

Alden LaClair is our longest serving member and is a co-founder of the department.

Our apparatus currently consists of one Pumper (Engine), one Pumper/Tanker, one Tanker and one Brush Truck. These vehicles are utilized to provide our services. Our newest addition is "Engine 1", a 2007 Crimson Pumper/Rescue with a 1000 gallon tank and 1500 gpm pump. The Engine also carries our rescue equipment, including jaws for accident victim extrication. See our equipment page for closer pictures of each vehicle.
